We all know about the Russian GLONASS. Do not you know about it? Basically, it is satellite navigation system. Recently, Sony confirmed that its upcoming smart phones, Sony Xperia S and Sony Xperia Ion will be equipped with GLONASS. Even, company also announced that its old smart phones, like Xperia Arc S, Arc, Ray, Neo, Play, and Live with Walkman will also support this feature.

Russian GLONASS works same as what GPS does in United States of America. With the help of GPS, you can access approximately 31 satellites. On the other hand, with GLONASS, individual can access additional 24 satellites. In other words, Sony Xperia S and Sony Xperia Ion will help you to access 55 satellites.
